Diving
Beautiful coral reefs offer scuba divers and snorkelling enthusiasts have the chance to see an abundance of marine life including turtles, sharks and manta rays. Gili Trawangan is famous for the fantastic diving and snorkelling just off-shore. Gili Joglo is located 100 meters from the best snorkelling beach of the island.

SURFING
Off the southern end of the island is a right hand break called Secrets, where the local boys are more than welcoming to travelling surfers. The spot itself is a little fickle, but when it starts breaking it really cranks and produces flawless barrels which for intermediate / advanced standard surfers can be exhilarating. Fast waves breaking over shallow coral make for an adrenaline packed surf. Surf boards can be rented locally.
DAY TRIPS TO LOMBOK
There are a number of tour businesses along the main beach packaging day trips to Lombok and the surrounding islands. Most worthy of a visit on Lombok are the spectacular waterfalls at Senaru and the trek to the top of the volcano, Mount Rinjani and Kuta Lombok.
Senarau Waterfalls are situated at the base of Mount Rinjani. The falls are very picturesque and well worth the short hike down to the falls where the cool water awaits you.
Mount Rinjani National Park is a 3,000 meter volcano surrounded by a beautiful mountain lake. Hiking enthusiasts come from all over the world to trek this amazing mountain.
Kuta Lombok is located on the south coast line of Lombok and is famous for its scenery and surf breaks.
SNORKELLING
Gili Trawangan is one of the three Gilis – with Gili Meno and Gili Air only moments away by boat. Gili Trawangan has many glass bottom boats for hire that can take you around Gili Trawangan, or to Gili Meno and Gili Air, to experience the magical beauty of the reefs. The boat captains will bring you to safe snorkelling sites where you will observe the abundant colourful sea life and have a chance to catch a glimpse of the giant sea turtles.
SUP
Stand-up paddle boards are available for rental just off the beach nearby Gili Joglo Villas.
Walk 200 m to stand up on pristine turquoise waters.
Horse riding
The Stud Stables on Gili Trawangan have a choice of well trained horses available for hire. You can enjoy safe riding along the sandy beaches and the quiet roads going through the coconuts plantations of the island with no cars or traffic. All rides are accompanied by an experienced guide.
FISHING
Line fishing, trawling, Fishing trips and charters are offered by a number of small businesses established on the beach and can be arranged with our staff. Please do make yourself familiar with the island's regulations.
GOLF
For those with golf on their mind, the Kosaido Golf Club is located at Sire Bay on the northwest coast of Lombok. The18 hole championship course, set in a coconut plantation overlooking the ocean on three sides, was designed with a philosophy of respecting the natural contours of the land. GETTING HERE
Gili Trawangan lies 4 km to the north-west of Indonesian island Lombok, which capital Mataram has international airport and is easily accessed with direct flights from Singapore through Silk Air or Singapore Airlines. Air Asia flies daily from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and a number of other carriers operate few flights a day from Jakarta and other major Indonesian cities.
Most international flights arrive into Denpasar, Bali. For those arriving into Bali there are several options for transferring to the Gili islands:
BY AIR
There are daily flights from Denpasar to Mataram taking only 30 minutes with Garuda, Wings Air and Lion Air.
After arriving into Lombok, an air conditioned car and driver can meet you. Take either the picturesque Monkey Forest or the spectacular curving Coastal road with stunning views of the Gili Islands. Great tasters of Lombok’s beauty. Then only a 10 minute speedboat ride to get to Gili Trawangan where Gili Joglo staff will be awaiting your arrival.
BY SEA
Daily fast boat services operate from Benoa and Serangan Harbour and Padang Bai in Bali to Gili Trawangan. The journey takes around two and half hours, service includes transfer from your hotel to the harbour. Companies offering these services are for example Gili Getaway,
